The 18″ Grape is one of four 18″ tree style shade designs by Tiffany Studios which were designed to mate with the large Tree Trunk base. Starting with a cast bronze crown of openwork branches at the top of the shade, these lamp designs fully integrate the shade with the base.
Hand rolled glasses by Youghiogheny, Schlitz, Lins, and Uroborus in tones of blue, purple and green were blended in a lush color palette to give the shade depth. Hints of red, orange and deep amber enliven the color scheme. A brilliant blue sky composed of fracture/streamer glass made over thirty years ago by Schlitz Studios peeps between the foliage and ripening fruit.
The color, texture and transparency of each of the glasses used were all carefully considered when laying out the shade. This lamp was created for a local client.
