Turtleback shades are a unique category of Tiffany lamp that were created in an endless variety of shapes, sizes and colors. This 16″ Turtleback shade is made with a mottled green glass that is mixed with cream tones. The turtlebacks in the band are hand cut and faceted from the large 4″ x 6″ tiles which are also used in the base.
Commissioned in 2016 by a couple in Illinois, this 16″ Turtleback shade is shown on the distinctive Square Turtleback base. The base is cast in bronze at our studio using molds taken from an original Tiffany Studios example and is illuminated from within.
