The 28″ Lemon Tree with Birds is a Century Studios original shade design that we added to our lamp offerings in 2007. Designed by Bill Campbell, the complex shade takes its inspiration from a Tiffany Studios pictorial wall mosaic.
Groupings of blue and yellow birds nestle among tree branches laden with ripening fruit. Bill selected a tropical color palette for this impressive shade, with a strong emphasis on yellow, green, and turquoise. The rich browns of the intertwining tree branches play against the other colors in the shade. Ring mottled, rippled, and streaky glasses blend harmoniously together to create a lamp that has interest close up and from afar.
This example was commissioned by a client in Pennsylvania as a Christmas gift. The shade was completed in time for Christmas and has been installed as a chandelier fixture.
