This pair of 10″ Acorn shades was created for a Chicago area client in 2007 for use with their antique Double Student lamp base. Tiffany Studios sold these oil lamp bases, which were manufactured by The Manhattan Brass Company, with blown glass or stained glass shades. Many of the bases found on the antiques market today have been retrofitted for electricity. For the two acorn shades, we chose a deep amber toned glass with lighter acorns accenting the decorative border row.
