The 15″ Spider is a lamp that can be made in any color. This example uses a glass that combines a vivid emerald green with yellow green.
One of the most striking features of this design is the three dimensional spider that sits atop the shade with its legs extending down over the glass web. We make the cast bronze spider crown at our studio using molds taken from an original Tiffany example. The vent cap represents the body of the spider.
Even though the 15″ Spider shade can be used with a number of different bases, Tiffany Studios almost always mated this shade with the highly detailed Mushroom base (16″ tall). We created this piece in 2010 and it is in a private collection.
