Daffodils come in a variety of colors and sizes, and the 20″ Jonquil Daffodil is one of the few Tiffany Studios shade designs which show two varieties of flower on the same shade. The upper half of the shade features large yellow daffodils in full bloom, with their trumpets nodding gracefully. The lower half is scattered with a profusion of delicate Narcissus blooms whose bright faces are turned upwards towards the sun.
Commissioned by a New York client, this shade has the bright, happy look of Spring. The lively yellow tones of the flowers enliven the fresh green leaves. The subtle blue of the background glass and the green border tones interact harmoniously with the flowers.
The shade is pictured on the Decorated Library base, which features hand applied wire work swirling around the stem.
